It all started back in the late 1950s, when Mr.
Jim Pilsl Senior and Mr. Bert Cretcher, after years of employment in the
insurance industry, decided to become partners in their first independent
insurance agency. Together, they founded the “Mid City Insurance Agency” at the
corner of 46th and Prospect, in the heart of Kansas City, Missouri. Jim and Bert
established their business on the basis of integrity and excellent customer
service. As the business grew, they maintained the close attention to detail and
personal rapport with each customer.
Meanwhile, Jim Pilsl Junior grew up watching his Dad run the business and
pursuing whatever young men do. In 1985, Jim Junior officially joined the
Mid City Insurance team. As the business expanded, a new office was opened on
Main street. Jim Pilsl Junior began to take note of the changing landscape
of personal and commercial insurance. New carriers where added to allow
for providing the “Best fit” together with the lowest rates, to all customers.
In 2001, Safeway Insurance opened another office in Independence Missouri, to
better service the large number of “Walk In” customers who lived on the East
side of town. This provided convenient service for those who liked to pay
in person, monthly, or “At the last minute”.
With the success of the Independence office, yet another office was opened in
2002 to service the South end of town. The Grandview office was conveniently
located near US Highway 71 and Main street, Grandview. Immediately, the
office became productive with the influx of “Southern” customers.
